When we’re not on campus, many of us Skidmore students head downtown to one of the many cafes in vibrant 萨拉托加温泉市. But what does 你r favorite coffee spot say about 你? 你会在每个地方找到谁呢 的地方? Or, if 你’re looking for a new spot in town, which cafe should 你 try based on 你r personality, coffee preferences, and the atmosphere 你're looking for? 读 on to read my thoughts about Saratoga's coffee scene.

不常见的理由 is the Skidmore student’s unofficial “home away from home” (of course, 我们的第一个家是Skidmore🙂). Busy students, entrepreneurs, and anyone looking to relax with a simple yet high-quality cup of coffee or latte can be seen at Uncommon. After grabbing coffee here, I like to go to Northshire Bookstore to browse all the 新书.

萨拉托加咖啡贸易商 is known as the rival to 不常见的理由 for Skid Kids. If 你’re a Coffee Traders fan, 你 love to know where each type of coffee comes from 还有它是怎么烤的. The Coffee Traders menu includes many specialty lattes, especially 在节日期间! They also have a latte flight, allowing customers to try 同时喝四杯不同的拿铁. There is also a vintage candy store in the back!

"The One Who is Always in a Meeting"
If 你 enjoy group meetings and dancing in the rain, 点咖啡 is the 的地方 for 你. Here, 你 can find great food and coffee drinks to make a 长 day of meetings 有趣的. The menu includes options like grilled paninis, personal pizzas, omelets, and more. Personally, I enjoy Spot’s specialty lattes, like the Cherry Mocha. 最好的 part about the seating at Spot is the wall of windows that lets the sun in all day 长.

Walt Cafe is the coffee shop to end all coffee shops. 顾客受到其欢迎 warm lighting, cozy couches and seating areas, and plenty of breakfast food, coffee, 还有甜点可供选择. Upon walking in, customers are greeted with an entire wall of tea and a separate room 为了后面的蜂蜜. You can even sample the different kinds of 蜂蜜! 我有 the chocolate 蜂蜜 and the wildflower 蜂蜜. My favorite drink to get here is a London fog latte with the Spa City Earl Gray tea.
Whether 你 want to warm up with a tea latte in the winter or cool down with a homemade iced matcha latte in the spring, 萨拉托加茶 & 蜂蜜总是一个美妙的地方 to stop in for some peace and quiet.
亲爱的甜甜圈
“拖延者”
Coffee and doughnuts: What a classic combination. 没有什么比拖延做作业更好的了 on a Sunday than a quick trip into town to 亲爱的甜甜圈. 我喜欢点冰的 mocha with my doughnut and take a walk down Broadway afterward.
I’m starting to wonder if the people who work at 亲爱的甜甜圈 recognize me by how many times I come in while school is in session. 没有什么是好的(或坏的) day better than one of their doughnuts. My personal favorite flavors are Salted Caramel, Galaxy glaze和Churro.
亲爱的甜甜圈 also has great merchandise. I’m a big fan of the knit winter hat 还有迷你甜甜圈钥匙链. (My car keys at home are currently decorated with 油条甜甜圈钥匙链.)
So, which Saratoga coffee shop are 你?
For me, I’d have to say 不常见的理由. Though I love a good cozy coffee shop like Walt Cafe, if I am ever gone for an extended period of time, my roommates know that 不常见的理由 (like with many Skidmore students) is where to find me!
